[Eril-l] Inquiry: Workarounds for MyEBSCO Account 400 Error

Hello!
We experienced this issue earlier this year and OCLC was able to help us resolve it. Here is what they shared with us for implementation on our end:

We've been able to resolve this issue on sites seeing this by making sure there are no other EBSCO stanzas set. That means also removing the EBSCO LinkSource stanza that used to be at the beginning of the EBSCOHost stanza (it's OK to leave the Option Cookie, just to make sure the default cookie functionality is set like it should be).

The only stanza you should have for EBSCO is what is shown here:
https://help.oclc.org/Library_Management/EZproxy/EZproxy_database_stanzas/Database_stanzas_E/EBSCO_Information_Services

You should also remove this HJ line:
HJ https://ezp.twu.edu/login?url=https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=ip,uid&profile=ehost&defaultdb=ccm

You should also remove the other stanzas you have set with EBSCO, the EBSCOhost stanza should be the only thing set. For example, I see you also have Education Research Complete and Music Index Online, the hostnames and domains in these are already covered by EBSCOhost.

Then in your EZproxy admin go to View Server Status and perform the Host Maintenance:

Clear out anything shown for Orphaned or not used hosts:
Remove X orphaned hosts that have -1 database indexes (requires EZproxy restart)
Remove X hosts that have not been used in over 30 days (requires EZproxy restart)

Then restart.

If you still see issues then can you send us your complete updated config.txt (plus any include files it might point to), and temporarily add this line to the top of your user.txt so can check to see that the user header is getting sent to EBSCO:
oclcsupport:br0825:admin

If that all looks good you might check with EBSCO on this, they did provide this page for what to check once we see the user header is getting sent:

Our users seeking to log in to MyEbsco are getting the same 400 error message that Jungmin Byun (UCCS) and Lee Adams (CSU East Bay) mentioned.  Ebsco's tech support suggested updating proxy server configuration stanzas and restarting the EZProxy server.  This was done; it hasn't helped.  Ebsco is now suggesting it is an OCLC issue.

Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution?  Error message cut-n-pasted below.
