[Eril-l] unpaywall not removing incorrect links

I was frustrated by not getting responses or fixes for Unpaywall, so I
asked Jason Priem (the CEO of OurResearch) about it at the Q2 Townhall for
OpenAlex on April 26. He responded that something like 65% of the submitted
corrections they received from users were wrong, so they were pausing the
process while they figure out what they want to do (line 34 in this
transcript
<https://github.com/ourresearch/town-hall-notes/blob/main/2026-q2/transcript.md?plain=1>
).
As a result, I have stopped trying to submit corrections to
OurResearch-based metadata to anybody. Sometimes if I suspect the erroneous
data originates upstream (for instance, with Crossref), I still try to
follow up with those providers, since OurResearch should pick up
corrections that upstream providers make to their own data.
Why OurResearch hasn't taken the time to update their submissions page with
this information, I do not know. (I can speculate, but that's probably not
fair to the OurResearch team.)
