[Eril-l] check for available services, no inventory in Alma

Hi Kayla,

That you can hide the records sounds to me like someone erroneously activated resources from the CZ and then didn't get them fully deleted from the IZ, only deactivated. It might be worthwhile to run a report to look for inactive collections in your institution zone.

If using assistive software, message ends here. Signature below.

My work week runs Tuesday through Saturday. I do not expect a response outside your own work patterns.

Happy Friday all,

Recently we've noticed an increase in problem reports from users where there simply is no access link for the resource and it says "check for available services."

When we investigate, most of the time we discover the item is not something we've ordered or part of a subscription; it's not something we're supposed to have access to. In some cases, as far as I can tell, we've never had access to the item. It's a record with no inventory and shouldn't be visible.

So sure, we can create a set to find these records and hide them. And that's what we've done so far. But I'd like to know why this is happening so we can prevent it.

Has anyone experienced this? Also I'm going to be at ER&L next week if you're open to chatting about this in person.

Thanks!

-Kayla
