We are pleased to announce that registration for NISO Plus Baltimore
<https://niso.plus/niso-plus-2025-baltimore/>, taking place in person on
February 10–12, 2025, at the Marriott Waterfront, is now open!
Organized by a committee representing libraries, publishers, vendors, and
more from around the world, NISO Plus will emphasize conversation over
presentation and offer opportunities throughout for participants to network
and address the biggest challenges currently facing the information
community, including issues around emerging technologies, open research and
open access, metadata, research integrity and ethics, and much more.
Presentations or panel discussions will be followed by discussion and Q&A
periods in which participants will collaborate to identify common problems
and brainstorm solutions. NISO will also continue with its tradition of
hosting an awards luncheon featuring the Miles Conrad Award and Lecture
<https://www.niso.org/awards/MCA>, the Ann Marie Cunningham Service Award,
the NISO Fellows awards, and an introduction to the 2025 NISO Plus
Scholarship awardees.
This year’s program will include two pre-conferences, each offering a
deeper dive into timely issues in scholarly communications. Building on
2024’s popular pre-conference, the morning event will explore the role of
Artificial Intelligence in the current information ecosystem. See how far
AI tools and systems have progressed in just a year, how they are changing
the behavior and expectations of information seekers, and how to
responsibly evaluate the use of AI in your corner of the information
industry. In the afternoon, a second pre-conference will explore solutions
to assessing the usage of open access content, particularly scholarly
monographs, in the humanities and social sciences.
