General Job duties:
1.      Coordinates the processes and procedures of metadata and cataloging areas, providing original cataloging, record enhancement, and database maintenance.
2.      Develops, implements, and maintains workflows, procedures, and documentation for all metadata management.
3.      Serves as part of a professional library team, including instruction, reference, and department liaison duties.
 Required:
*        One-year professional experience as a cataloger or metadata librarian.
*        Demonstrated ability to perform original cataloging in MARC and RDA format.
*        Demonstrated knowledge of MARC/MARCXML, MODS, Dublin Core, and RDA.
*        Familiarity cataloging in an integrated library system, such as III Sierra, Follett, or Mandarin.
*        Ability to work in a team, collaborate with colleagues, and communicate clearly.
*        Ability to perform the duties of an academic librarian, including reference, library instruction, and liaison duties.
*        Willingness to perform a variety of duties, participate in professional development, and embrace the values<https://www.xavier.edu/mission-identity/xaviers-mission/xaviers-values> of Xavier University.
 Preferred Requirements:
*        Ability to catalog non-English language materials, such as in Spanish, French, German, Latin, or Greek.
*        Experience with the handling and cataloging of special collections or archival materials.
*        Demonstrated Ability to plan a large metadata project.
