Wed Oct 6 09:21:16 PDT 2021

In just over four months (February 15-17, 2022) we will be opening our
virtual doors for the NISO Plus 2022 conference — and you can now reserve
your place <https://nisoplus22.eventbrite.com/>! We’re delighted to
announce that registration is officially open and, thanks to our generous
sponsors <https://niso.plus/sponsors/>, we are once again able to keep the
cost of attendance affordable for all. As well as the early bird discount
(good through January 7, 2022), we are also offering discounted rates for
NISO members, for groups of five or more, and for students, early career
professionals, unemployed, and those from lower-income countries.

Continuing our commitment to making the conference accessible to all, next
year’s conference will again take place in two blocks of time each day — in
the Americas’ morning/Europe, Middle East & Africa afternoon and in the
Americas’ evening/Asia Pacific morning to early afternoon. We’ll also be
balancing the content more equitably across the time zones, with a mix of
plenaries alongside three parallel sessions throughout the whole day.

Like previous conferences, NISO Plus 2022 will be equally focused on
presentations and discussions, with the goal of identifying some concrete
ideas for work that NISO will take forward with our community.

Our fabulous Planning Committee
<https://niso.plus/niso-plus-2022-conference-planning-committee/> is
already hard at work, helping us make sure next year’s conference is the
best yet. There will once again be a mix of invited and proposed sessions
(look out for our call for proposals in mid-October) on a range of topics
of interest to the information community. By way of a sneak preview, here
are a few of the key themes the committee has already identified:

   -

   Information and ethics
   -

Building a more diverse information technology workforce
   -

The tension between open and owned
   -

   Multilingualism in scholarly communications
   -

   Digital preservation
   -

Standards and taxonomies for indigenous knowledge
   -

   And more!

NISO Plus 2022 will be here before we know it, so please mark your
calendars, follow us on Twitter <https://twitter.com/NISOInfo> and/or sign
up for updates <https://confirmsubscription.com/h/j/16B94AB10EFACDB2>, snag
your early bird registration <https://nisoplus22.eventbrite.com/>, start
thinking about your session proposal, and spread the word in your community.

We hope to see you in February!

Best wishes

The NISO Team
