Core webinar: Leveraging the FOLIO Transition: Best Practices

Date: Wednesday, May 26, 2021

All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon
Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.



Description: The presenters will discuss their roles as library leaders in
helping transition their libraries to FOLIO, an open-source library
management system, along with associated staff challenges, training, and
leveraging aspects of FOLIO for new library initiatives.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the webinar, attendees will be able to:

-Understand how to address staffing challenges and other library-wide
implementation issues related to transitioning to a new open-source library
management system.

Who should attend?

The audience can be members of public or academic libraries - generally any
library that uses a library management system and is considering an open-
source platform.

Host: Chad Pearson, Chair of the CORE Emerging Trends Committee

Presenters:

Sharon WIles-Young is the Director of Library Access Services for the
Lehigh Libraries. She provides strategic direction and management for the
Library Lending Services Team and the Library Technical Services Team.

Paula Sullenger is the Associate Dean for Information Resources at Texas
A&M University Libraries. She has previously worked in a variety of serials
and electronic resource management roles at Auburn University.
