Amy Fry:
Our (San Francisco State University) campus allowed anyone who joined either the Alumni Association, or the Friends of the Library, online access to the library online resources. Either one required a modest fee to join which went to the university, if they joined the Alumni Association, or to the Friends of the Library which donates its funds to the library. Some universities allow you to join their Alumni Association even if you are not a bona fide alumni (i.e. they would take their money from anybody.) Our city public library allows online access to anyone with a library card, so you might want to check with your city’s public library. Our public library (San Francisco Public) has online access to many online databases.

Subject: [Eril-l] databases licensed for alumni
I know a lot of academic libraries are already offering some databases to alumni. Is anyone out there willing to serve as a resource for me while I look into it for my library? Is there a list out there somewhere of databases/vendors who already have something in place for alumni? What are the low-hanging fruit? And how did the authentication piece work out? Thanks!
