Could this help? It is a Canadian ESL textbook that I used with a high intermediate level student in my volunteer work with Literacy Pittsburgh. At first I was hesitant to use it because one of the aims of our tutoring sessions was acculturation (United States American culture) in addition to language instruction. But I soon embraced the Canadian perspective presented in the book as a way to teach my Chinese immigrant student about how American culture differs from Canadian culture, and how diversity is an important value in both the United States and Canada.

I’m wondering if anyone knows of any comprehensive online resources/databases that support English as a foreign language instruction at a university level. By that I mean more of a textbook replacement nature rather than a self-directed supplementary nature (recognizing that there are many good, free, self paced supplementary sources online).
