Date: Wednesday, May 20, 2020

All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon
Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.

This is part two of a two-part series. Excel for Technical Services:
Introductory <http://www.ala.org/alcts/confevents/upcoming/webinar/042220>
is the companion to this webinar.

This is the second session in a two-part series on features of Excel that
can make data easier to both read and analyze. The presenter will walk
through each step using a report generated from the ILS. The second,
intermediate to advanced, session will show ways to transform data for
analysis, including: importing fields from one spreadsheet into another,
finding duplicates, splitting columns that have multiple values, and using
conditional formatting to help visualize data.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

   -

Use formulas to do basic arithmetic in Excel
   -

Import data from one spreadsheet into another
   -

Use conditional formatting to find duplicates or outlier values, and to
   create simple data visualizations
   -

Split cells that contain multiple values, e.g., multiple ISBNs

Who should attend?

People in the library who use Excel for analysis.

Presenter:

Karen Kohn is Collections Analysis Librarian at Temple University in
