[Eril-l] ACS and pay-per-view - would you be interested?

We subscribe to a package through our consortium. In my opinion, it gets good usage, though I'd need to look more closely to see which titles are actually being used (maybe it's just a few over and over? I don't really look unless someone higher up asks me to do so. ). I've heard about the token approach, but would be interested in learning about a pay-per-view option if ACS would like to seriously discuss that option.

I have suggested to American Chemical Society adding a pay-per-view option instead of their subscription packages. I’m told they don’t offer that option. I’m just wondering, how many schools out there would be interested in a Pay-per-view option of ACS titles? We are a very small school, and the prices for ACS are not sustainable and are very hard to justify outside accreditation requirements. I’m feeling very frustrated actually. Am I the only one??
Venting, and also want to see how many others feel the same way and what you have done to offset the cost.
Thanks
