[Eril-l] Access to Cabell's

Yes, I agree: “I would prefer if Cabell's had a separate marketing website, however, rather than using the homepage of our paid subscriptions to market their other products. There's no way for us to tell what our subscriptions are (or if we even subscribe) to Cabell's by looking at our Cabell's homepage.”

Also, it will be very confusing for patrons.

Thank you all for your responses! We are able to search the directories with the search box on top, so I can see that we do have access now. I would prefer if Cabell's had a separate marketing website, however, rather than using the homepage of our paid subscriptions to market their other products. There's no way for us to tell what our subscriptions are (or if we even subscribe) to Cabell's by looking at our Cabell's homepage.

We had been accessing Cabell's using this url http://www.cabells.com/memberarea.aspx
That now results in a page can't be found error.

Using https://www.cabells.com/ results in a site with a pop-up window with several screens about the new look of the site which you can either click through or just close. Once you're done with that, you're at the new site and, as Linda noted in her earlier message, future visits to the site bypass the pop-up window and lead directly to the site.

So, the short version is, https://www.cabells.com/ seems to work to get access to the database.

We have access to a number of their subject areas and when I just checked I got redirected to the new website. Looks totally different but I think all the same content may be there, really hard to tell since it looks so different. I certainly haven’t heard anything about the redesign prior to this. The first time I tried it there was information saying I was being redirected to the redesigned page, the second time it just took me to the new design. They seem to using the same URL.

Cabell's has redesigned their website & we no longer seem to have access to any of our Cabell Directory of Publishing Opportunities titles. I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone there yet. Does anyone know if the URL has changed for these products?
