The Educational Technology Support Librarian plans, organizes and manages
learning technologies support for ATSU Arizona faculty and programs. The
scope of these services includes working with programs and individual
faculty in the effective use of educational technology in support of
curriculum and instruction.
The ETDC Librarian works with the ETDC Director for planning and
implementation of educational technology support services. Together they
will coordinate their planning with the University Director of the Teaching
and Learning Center. These activities include:
a. Library support for faculty course content development through research
and identification of open learning resources,
b. working with ATSU Arizona programs in planning the effective integration
of educational technologies into their curriculums,
c. working with Information Technology Services to ensure effective use of
supported academic computing platforms including online didactic creation
software (Camtasia and Articulate) on the AZ campus,
d. reviewing and monitoring new developments which impact academic
instructional computing, and
e. seeking feedback from faculty and staff about educational technology
services they may need and how they can best be delivered.
The Educational Technology Support Librarian will provide consultation,
assistance, and training for the faculty on how to use educational
technologies such as Camtasia and Articulate to support effective and
innovative teaching practice to include:
• topical research needed to identify open learning resources and other
resources to support faculty development of content
• posting/inserting faculty developed content into appropriate software
program for course delivery, if requested
• post production support for optimization of content delivery
• migration of content into educational software platform (currently
Blackboard 9.1)
The ETDC Librarian will be proficient in relevant learning technologies in
order to support academic services including:
• support for the ATSU learning management systems, podcasting, wikis,
learning object repositories;
• support services for post-production of online content, including
uploading of the content to the LMS.
• development and teaching of training resources and services (both
in-person and online),
• support for in-house video-casting environment to include web
development, account management, testing, evaluation, and limited
programming.
• development of content for the ETDC web sites; and
• other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements:
• Master of Library Science or Master of Education in Instructional
Technology or equivalent
• 2 years of experience working in library media services or 1 year of
experience working as an instructional technologist supporting academic
software and solutions
• Demonstrated competence in using media development software such as
Articulate and Camtasia
• Knowledgeable about the role of technology in supporting the achievement
of educational goals and instruction in face-to-face, hybrid and online
courses
• Experience in developing and using web based library resources
• Experience supporting Blackboard 9.0
• Good problem solving skills related to the use of a variety of academic
software platforms and software
• Experience working with faculty and instructors in an academic technology
consulting and support role
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good organizational and time management skills
Preferred:
• 3 or more years of experience working in a health library media services
or
• 2 or more years of experience working as an instructional technologist
supporting academic software and solutions
