We put these on an externally accessible fileshare that is IP-restricted to our institution, and link to it via a persistent URL (PURL (older practice) or handle (newer practice)). An example is at http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/vf-whe/Record/whe_646202

Hello,
I'm interested in learning what other institutions do when the only format of an e-book is in PDF form and the publisher allows institutional access. Do you host it on your servers? How do you restrict access?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
