standards, vocabularies, and practices that support effective metadata
creation and exchange across the scholarly and information landscape.
Together, the panel will address persistent challenges and opportunities
while also considering emerging pressures and the growing demand for richer
contextual and rights metadata. Whether you work in libraries, publishing,
vendor services, or vendor operations, this webinar offers a practical and
timely look at where metadata infrastructure stands today and what is
needed to build a stronger and more resilient ecosystem for tomorrow.

Organizational Resilience through Collaboration

Thursdays, June 4–June 25, 11:00 am–12:30 pm EDT (US/Canada)
>From research infrastructure to consortia, collaborative models provide
creative solutions to shared challenges, helping to scale capacity and
reduce risk for all stakeholders. This four-week virtual training course
will provide a practical guide to the pros and cons of cross-stakeholder
collaboration in scholarly communications and its importance for
organizational resilience.
Participants will learn about the importance of establishing shared goals
and values, ensuring effective communications, getting and maintaining
buy-in from the communities being served, and measuring progress. They will
hear from the leaders of two successful, community-led collaborations: Maurice
York, Vice President for Library Programs, Big Ten Academic Alliance, and Chris
Shillum, Executive Director of ORCID. These speakers will share key
challenges and opportunities their organizations have faced as well as
lessons learned on their paths to resilience through collaboration. The
course is also interactive, with participants learning through doing and
discussing as well as listening.

We are delighted to invite you to our 2026 Annual Members Meeting! Open to
members and nonmembers alike, this fully virtual meeting is a great
opportunity to catch up on what’s happening in the world of information
standards. Attendees will hear from the NISO team about important
organizational issues, including our finances and progress on our strategic
plan. We’ll also share the latest on standards projects in development and
ideas for future initiatives. There will be ample opportunity to ask
questions about our organization and how we operate, as well as to share
feedback about NISO and our work.
