Hello Everyone,
I'm very excited to announce that we have two new lessons now available in
the ONEAL Project
<https://sparcopen.org/our-work/negotiation-resources/oneal/oneal-curriculum
/introduction-to-the-oneal-curriculum/> 's Curriculum.
* Introductions to Strategies in Negotiation
<https://sparcopen.org/our-work/negotiation-resources/oneal/oneal-curriculum
/introduction-to-strategies-in-negotiation/>
Lesson developed by Scarlet Galvan, University of Chicago.
This lesson introduces strategies that are helpful when planning and
executing negotiations including change management and priority setting
tools, evaluation of how library strategy intersects with broader
institutional goals, and a selection of engagement techniques for other
library workers, faculty members, university administrators, office of
general counsel, and procurement specialists.
* Privacy

/privacy-surveillance/> & Surveillance
Lesson developed by Ellen Dubinsky, University of Arizona; Michele Gibney,
University of the Pacific; Molly Rainard, Auraria Library; and Scott
Schmucker, Florida State University.
This lesson provides information, tools, and strategies to use as you
prepare to negotiate for strong privacy protection language in your library
vendor licensing agreements. This lesson includes components that are
broadly applicable for all library professionals who wish to learn more
about privacy and library resources, as well as specific content to aid in
negotiating patron privacy into licenses.
These new lessons provide 10-15 hours of learning with a combination of
videos, readings, and hands-on exercises. As part of it we also created a
56-page Strategies Workbook that can be downloaded, edited, and printed! The
downloadable lesson plans which can be used to update course sites who
integrate pieces of this curriculum have been fully revised and updated to
include the new content.
The ONEAL Project's team is incredibly grateful for the contributors to
these new lessons.
Regards,
Katharine
