[Eril-l] American Heart Association Ebooks

Good morning,
I emailed this list back in 2022 asking whether libraries are keeping their subscriptions to American Heart Association (AHA) ebooks once they started managing their content directly. Our Library chose to end our subscription due to the unsustainability of their per-user pricing model and our Simulation Center chose to pick up the subscription. The pricing for this department has since increased by several thousand dollars.

For those who have kept their subscriptions to the AHA Ebooks, have your prices increased significantly as well? Were you able to persuade the AHA to use a different metric for counting usage? We're currently using IP authentication and the AHA is using COUNTER 4 BR2 reports, which is counting the number of book section requests, rather than users. I'm afraid the only avenue here is for our Simulation Center to move off of IP authentication and instead create individual accounts for each user, but that is going to be a difficult workload for them to manage.

Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
