[Eril-l] Unpaywall in EBSCO Discovery

We have unpaywall enabled in new EDS UI. So far it works as advertised, and I've not seen it with our ILL link. One thing I have noticed is that if you allow off-campus users to search as guest (which we do) sometimes they are not able to use the Unpaywall link without a login.

I asked EBSCO about this and according to them this is because the origin of the metadata record controls if any of the access links can be used or not. We put in two ER requests about this: "ER 2812634 | Guest Access Users not able to use New EDS UI's Unpaywall integration links" , ER: 3052088 Unpaywall (New Interface) Customlink is prompted to Authenticate via Guest access.

We recently migrated to the new EBSCO user interface for both Discovery and the Research Databases and are considering various integrations.

With those who have integrated Unpaywall:

  *
Does it work as advertised
  *
Have you found that other links either negate or make unpaywall redundant? For instance, we've had issues before where a full text link and a link for our interlibrary loan service appear in the same record.

In general, just looking for reviews and if it's worth including and perhaps troubleshooting.
