leading a library's work in the world of transformative agreements, please
consider a position at the University of San Diego as our Senior Electronic
 and Open Content Librarian.

The University of San Diego’s Copley Library is a progressive,
forward-thinking organization and seeks an energetic, dynamic, and
enthusiastic individual for a 12-month tenure-track Senior Electronic and
Open Content Librarian. Reporting to the Dean of the University Library
and working under the direction of the Associate Dean, Head of Collections,
Access, and Discovery, the Senior Electronic and Open Content Librarian
leads innovation in the library’s licensed and open resources. This
librarian is responsible for the acquisition and management of electronic
continuing resources, including databases and journals, through
subscriptions, open content, and transformative agreements for Copley
Library. The librarian plays a key role in the institution’s work to
promote open and equitable access to scholarly information. The librarian
serves as liaison to one academic department.

The Senior Electronic and Open Content Librarian trains and supervises two
staff positions and works with the Acquisitions and Cataloging Librarian,
the Digital Initiatives Librarian,
SCELC staff, and library faculty to transform the collection towards
open.The Senior Electronic and Open Access Resources Librarian manages the
bibliographic access related to e-resources. The librarian works with all
liaison librarians in identifying, negotiating terms,
and ordering journals and databases for USD Faculty. The librarian gathers
and disseminates statistical and other value-related data regarding
licensed e-resources, openly accessible content, and annual statistical
surveys for library faculty and administration. The Senior Electronic and
Open Content Librarian works with the Head of Collections, Access, and
Discovery and the library’s Budget and Operations Manager on matters
related to acquisitions and budget management of electronic resources. The
librarian will stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in the
field, including developments in e-books, datasets, journals, and openness.
This librarian will collaborate on other services and new initiatives with
the Copley Library faculty, as well as serve on library and university
committees.

The Senior Electronic and Open Content Librarian has faculty status and
builds a record of progressive scholarly and professional achievement to
fulfill the library’s requirements for reappointment, tenure, and
promotion, including participating in open access and e-resources related
professional organizations.

Salary range: $79,169 to $107,349; with excellent benefits.
