All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon
Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.



Description:

This webinar examines the excitement, reward and pitfalls in transitioning
from coworker to supervisor. With an emphasis on the positive effect of
clear equitable mentoring and network activities the presenter shares tips
and strategies to build diverse, inclusive and empowered leadership.
Identifying new networks, how to set and maintain a professional tone and
how to balance old relationships with new responsibilities.

Learning outcomes:

Upon the completion of this session participants will have the tools and
insight to navigate their new roles. Participants will recognize how to
empower the most positive outcomes for the paradigm shift of existing
relationships.

Who should attend?

Staff that are interested in becoming supervisors, new supervisors or
managers, current supervisors or managers

Presenters:

I am Resa Mai, the Director of Morris Area Public Library in Morris,
Illinois. I enjoy the challenge and flexibility of our library world. My
approach to supporting my staff and patrons is to ensure that we are action
verbs. We are growing, learning, exciting and empowering. As a director, I
focus on supporting and enriching my staff and my community. As a mentor, I
am teaching and engaging. As a community member, I embrace the opportunity
for learning and refining.
