As a member of the Resource Acquisition and Discovery Team, this library faculty position is responsible for negotiating, purchasing, and licensing electronic resources for the library and coordinates collection and analysis of data and statistics of these resources. This position works closely with several different areas of the library to acquire, manage, and assess the electronic resources collection. The Electronic Resources Acquisitions Librarian works collaboratively with another Electronic Resources Librarian, both who are under the supervision of the Head of Resource Acquisition and Discovery.


Assists in the acquisition of electronic resources. Works closely with the Collection Development Committee, Liaison Librarians, and the Resource Acquisition and Discovery Team in selecting new electronic collections and making decisions on renewals.
· Works with vendors to purchase, renew, and cancel licensed electronic resource content.
· Manages and negotiates license agreements and contract renewals for electronic resources.
· Develops, implements, and assesses licensing policies and procedures.
· Stays abreast of licensing trends and best practices and sets priorities for acquisitions of electronic resources to ensure consistent application and efficient workflow.
· Coordinates collection and analysis of data and statistics of electronic resources. Provides periodic reports on cost per use and other statistical reports to the Collection Development Committee, the Library Administration, and other staff members, as requested, for evaluation and reporting purposes. Assists with the preparation of collection related information and other measures of library effectiveness required by accreditation, state, and federal agencies.
· Serves as liaison for assigned academic department(s). In collaboration with teaching and research faculty in the colleges, develops select areas of the library’s subject resources by identifying and selecting new materials for the collection and by evaluating existing materials for possible withdrawal from the collection. Engages with departmental faculty to better understand and meet their library needs, develops collegial partnerships, and promotes library services and resources.
· Contributes to overall collection development through participation in the evaluation and development of the collection and in the review and selection of library resources as appropriate.
· Participates in the planning and policy making bodies of the library and University as appropriate.
· Serves on library, University, and state-wide committees or project teams as appropriate in consultation with supervisor.
· Maintains awareness of current campus issues and developments in library and information science.
· Participates in training and professional development activities.

Required:
· ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library or information science, or related advanced degree.
· Knowledge of the concepts and issues relating to the lifecycle of electronic resources.
· Ability to collaborate, maintaining collegial working relationships with administrators, staff, and faculty inside and outside the Library.

Preferred:

· Experience acquiring and managing electronic resources within an integrated library system (ILS), electronic resource management systems, and third-party discovery systems.
· Working knowledge of Ex Libris’ Alma integrated library system and Primo VE discovery service.
· Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and procedures.
· Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
