DESCRIPTION

McQuade Library at Merrimack College seeks a leader to oversee resource
management for a growing community of students, faculty and staff. The Head
of Resource Management will provide leadership and expertise in the
procurement, assessment, and management of library print and electronic
resources, including individual and package subscriptions, e-book demand
driven acquisitions, and streaming services.

Responsibilities include:

   -

   Provides leadership to provide a user-centered, holistic electronic
   resources management vision to meet current and emerging information needs
   of the MC community.
   -

   Manages library materials budget; negotiates agreements with
   vendors/publishers and monitors performance of vendors; selects and
   evaluates library resources. Prepares and disseminates reports and
   statistics.
   -

   Verify and maintain local and remote access to all electronic resources.
   -

   Solves technical issues that affect user services and identifies
   strategies for enhancing e-resource accessibility and discoverability.
   -

   Coordinates training on library software, databases, and other
   electronic resources.
   -

   Collaborates with professional library staff to perform workflow
   analyses and document procedures.
   -

   Serves as primary liaison to subject areas faculty and users;
   identifies, meets, and facilitates ongoing communication about resource
   needs and service expectations.
   -

   Acts as Library representative on relevant faculty and campus committees.
   -

   Manages gifts to the library both monetary and physical. Maintain and
   disseminate Gift Policy.
   -

   Perform similar or related duties as assigned.
