Announcing the Subscribe to Open Community of Practice and Survey

Subscribe to Open (S2O) represents an innovative approach to flipping existing subscription journals to open access without the use of APCs. Pioneered by the nonprofit publisher Annual Reviews, the model is now being implemented by a growing number of nonprofit and commercial scholarly publishers worldwide.

To this end, the community of practice has developed a survey to gauge the understanding of this model to ensure a sustainable future. We encourage anyone interested — including publishers, librarians and funders — to contribute to this community by completing the survey, in order to share experiences, pose questions, and offer their insights about S2O. The results of the survey will be made freely available and shared at various conferences throughout 2021.
