Summary
The Mary and John Gray Library at Lamar University seeks an innovative, enthusiastic, self-motivated, technology-savvy, service-oriented individual to serve as Extended Collections Services Librarian. In the extended collections model, the library’s holdings combined with resource sharing (ILL), document delivery, and patron-driven acquisition, serve as a unified virtual collection to seamlessly meet user needs. Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the successful candidate will be a key player in providing this seamless access to an ever-increasing portion of the universe of information resources, regardless of location, through a holistic approach to the use of advanced technologies and services. This is a non-tenure track faculty position. Salary is commensurate with knowledge and experience.

Primary Responsibilities
* Coordinates and provides direction for interlibrary loan (ILL), document delivery, patron-driven acquisitions, and providing copyright compliance/clearance for faculty.
* Coordinates and manages the library’s electronic reserves service.
* Supervises unit personnel.
* Monitors copyright and intellectual property compliance for inter-library loan.
* Develops and manages a process for brokering copyright clearance for classroom use of copyrighted material.
* Plans, designs, develops, coordinates, and evaluates procedures and policies in consultation with faculty and staff to further develop extended collection services.
* Represents the library in resource sharing relationships.
* Generates and analyzes statistical and narrative reports on unit operations.
* Publicizes and promotes the extended collections services across campus.
* Coordinates physical acquisitions of items.
* Maintains current awareness of developments in extended collection services and assist in shaping the library’s future in this area.
* Participates in professional activities such as committee service, conference attendance, research and publication, continuing education, and staff development.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
* MLS/MIS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program with a minimum of three years of experience in an academic library, working in interlibrary loan, acquisitions, or serving remote users.
* Supervisor experience is highly desirable.
* Ability to work with a diverse population of colleagues and library users. Able to plan, organize, coordinate, and facilitate projects with faculty and staff.
* Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
* Ability to establish and maintain collegial relationships.
* Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ILL management systems (Tipasa preferred), library integrated systems, and course management systems.
* Record of scholarship and service appropriate to a faculty role.
