NISO Announce niso-announce at niso.org
Thu Nov 12 12:04:44 PST 2020

NISO recently updated the Open Discovery Initiative Recommended Practice
<https://www.niso.org/publications/rp-19-2020-odi>, which outlines data
exchange including data formats, method of delivery, usage reporting,
frequency of updates, and rights of use between discovery service
providers, content providers, and libraries.

The recommendations in this document, created by members of the Open
Discovery Initiative Standing Committee, enable libraries, discovery
service providers, and content providers to work together to the full
extent of their abilities -- providing the most effective and rich
experience to end users.

Join ODI Standing Committee members Ken Varnum and Geoff Morse at 11am
(Eastern Standard, US & Canada) on Monday, November 16, for a 60-minute
webinar
<https://www.niso.org/events/2020/11/your-role-niso-open-discovery-initiative>
highlighting
the recommended practice and the benefits to all parties who participate.

This event is being provided as a public service at no cost to the NISO
community and to the broader information community. There is no cost to
attend. However, for technical reasons, we will have to cap attendance for
the live broadcast at 500 sign-ups.

To allow us to estimate attendance and to ensure that you can receive the
sign-on credentials directly via your professional email address, we ask
those interested in attending to complete this RSVP form
<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ODI-Nov16> Webinar attendance on the Zoom
platform does require sign-on with an email address.

Best wishes,

The NISO Team
