[Eril-l] COUNTER 5 in LibInsight: Which report to choose

Happy to see this conversation. I’ve been working on LibInsight and setting up SUSHI. Some resources went smooth and others I’m still working out the kinks.

Seth – I’m not sure if this is what you are looking for but I have been using this site https://www.projectcounter.org/about/register/ to look up some of that information. In some cases, I had to contact the vendor support for more clarification. Many times I found the SUSHI server information by logging in to the administrative account for the resource or platform.

Thanks for asking this, Denise. I remember reading SpringShare’s recommendation for choosing a single master report, but forgot until I saw this. I’ve been working on a COUNTER R5 dataset for our LibInsight account this week and luckily haven’t started pulling reports yet.

As a related question, does anyone know of a guide or repository to help gather SUSHI credentials for vendors? I know Requestor and Customer IDs are account-specific, but sometimes I have trouble finding just the SUSHI server URL.

Until I get more familiar with COUNTER 5, I have set up 3 different data sets -- one for each type of report. I need to see the harvesting in action before I know which will be most useful.

HI folks,
Has anyone set up Counter 5 Sushi harvesting in LibInsight? In the Springshare documentation, the vendor “strongly” recommends fetching only one type of report (Platform Master, Database Master or Title Master) per platform (to avoid duplication of statistics). I’d appreciate hearing if anyone has decided which one to choose, or if you are choosing a different report for each type of e-resource.

Thanks,
Denise
