Hello,

I am posting this on behalf of the Educational Resources Lab at Oakland
University. WE have been having difficulties for over a year now with our
subscription. Our Educational Technology Specialist has been
working on reinstating our access to Horn Book Guide Online and has the
following question to ask:

As you may be aware, this past June Horn Book Guide Online suddenly changed
their platform from being a site license subscription running via an IP range
to an institutional license where an admin needs to manage all users. I was
able to participate in a web meeting with members of their IT staff and asked
them to support single sign-on. Many of my emails have gone unanswered, or
I've been told "we're close to a solution." Additionally, I have been
attempting for over a year to get a copy of their GDPR statement and VPAT.

At this point, I am wondering:

   - if any of our peer institutions use this vendor? If so, have you asked
for/received any detail on single sign on progress?
   - do you have faculty and/or students using the subscription?
   - how will you know when to add a user?
   - how will you/are you managing users as their relationship with the
university expires?

If you could forward your information to chapie at oakland.edu<mailto:chapie at oakland.edu>, I will collect
all of our information, create an email group and attempt to go forward with
Horn Book on behalf of our larger group in hopes of advancing our voice?

Thank you,
Julie Chapie
