Cynthia --

This is the EDS Wiki. See the EDS Partners Listserv on the left, bottom. If I remember correctly, this is the page you register for the listserv (see Create Account, upper right). http://edswiki.ebscohost.com/EBSCO_Discovery_Service_Wiki

I hope this helps somewhat!

Subject: [Eril-l] EBSCO EDS

Hi All –

First, is there a user forum devoted to discovery services? Or one devoted to EBSCO EDS?

And if not, let me ask this, as it involves OCLC too.

We have recently implemented EBSCO EDS. The widget for OCLC, and access to books outside of our collections, points either to www.worldcat.org<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.worldcat.org&data=02%7C01%7Cbmjohns%40svsu.edu%7Cf30678026cd44b3d628a08d767b293bb%7C550f45ff3e8342a197d970ad8935b0c5%7C0%7C0%7C637091888995110750&sdata=MG6EYnps3hGGccp%2BzQEmnbnU02B2zN4p8PRbN%2BEOs7A%3D&reserved=0> or to virginiatheolseminary.worldcat.org, a customization we have as part of our FirstSearch subscription. I have asked EBSCO, and so far have not turned up a widget that would link to the virginiatheolseminary.worldcat.org/discovery WorldCat Discovery interface. But that’s the interface that currently has our online ILL forms. That’s what I’m trying to achieve – an online ILL form for books not in EBSCO EDS.

One solution would be the ability to put an automated ILL link on the www.worldcat.org<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.worldcat.org&data=02%7C01%7Cbmjohns%40svsu.edu%7Cf30678026cd44b3d628a08d767b293bb%7C550f45ff3e8342a197d970ad8935b0c5%7C0%7C0%7C637091888995110750&sdata=MG6EYnps3hGGccp%2BzQEmnbnU02B2zN4p8PRbN%2BEOs7A%3D&reserved=0> interface, but I don’t seem to see that (although now that I think of it, perhaps logging on to Worldcat is what turns that on?). And I don’t know where it is that a person configures the older pre-discovery interface for www.worldcat.org<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.worldcat.org&data=02%7C01%7Cbmjohns%40svsu.edu%7Cf30678026cd44b3d628a08d767b293bb%7C550f45ff3e8342a197d970ad8935b0c5%7C0%7C0%7C637091888995120744&sdata=Dtj6gmNsphZxA7A9feWcsjF0cfGrKyOAZKZcdFSfFr8%3D&reserved=0>. Can an OCLC user enlighten me?

Or the second solution would be an EBSCO widget that linked to WorldCat Discovery (not the older interface). Is there an EBSCO user who knows whether that exists?

Thanks,

Cindy Harper
