Although the form is not customizable, in our experience most users do say it’s for a class when it’s for a class. It still requires follow up but it helps doing some basic triage, especially early in the semester when we may have a lot of films to activate. We’ve been doing mediated ordering for the last year and faculty are better at letting us know ahead of time they will require certain videos, which also helps.

I raised this with Kanopy at ALA Midwinter. It is not currently customizable. We would like to see a checkbox that asks if the request is for a course, and perhaps see a toned-down message, as well. However, at present, it isn’t possible.

Hi everyone,

For those that have moved to mediated requests for Kanopy streaming videos, can anyone tell me if it's possible for Kanopy to modify the request form that pops up on their site? We're thinking about ways to collect information from patrons requesting films about what course the film is for, and the Kanopy form seems like the most straightforward; we just don't know if it's customizable.
