[Eril-l] Academic Search Complete/Ultimate vs. Omnifile Full Text Mega

Greetings-

We have subscribed to OmniFile Mega Full Text for more than ten years (not
sure how long, exactly, as the acquisition predates my time here). It
contains content from H.W. Wilson, although it is an EBSCO database as a
result of the merger in 2011.

We are currently taking a serious look at Academic Search
Complete/Ultimate. We were thinking that it would be a replacement for
OmniFile; however, we have learned that although Wilson is no longer adding
new titles to the database, there are currently 1857 unique titles in
OmniFile that are not duplicated in Academic Search or elsewhere.

Our resources budget will not support two, multidisciplinary full-text
databases.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has made the decision to
switch from OmniFile to Academic Search Complete or Ultimate or anyone who
was in our position and decided not to make the switch. What factors
(besides cost) went into your decision making? Were you able to eliminate
any other databases that became unnecessary as result of having acquired
Academic Search? I would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has
thoughts regarding either database.

Many thanks!
Bonnie
