The iSchool at the University of Wisconsin Madison is seeking an instructor
for a fall 2018 online continuing education course that covers electronic
resources licensing. Our non-credit online continuing education courses are
asynchronous, but are designed so that learners log in at least once per
week to view lectures, complete readings, discussions, and any short
assignments. Learners expect to spend about 2-3 hours per week on all
course work. These courses are intended to offer practical information to
practicing librarians and information professionals and paraprofessionals.
Courses are graded on a pass/fail basis, and those who fulfill the course
requirements earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).



The Continuing Education Services office at the iSchool supports the
instructor with technical support and class development, if needed. We
anticipate that this will be a 6-8 week class. The instructor will work
with Continuing Education Services to choose the course dates, with choices
spanning from mid-September 2018 – mid-December 2018.



Instructor Responsibilities:

•          Develop the course in its entirety before the course start date;

•          Log in to the course at least 5 times per week in order to
monitor discussion, answer questions, and weigh in on discussion threads;

•          Turn in pass/fail grades within 2 weeks of course end date;



Qualifications:

•          Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;

•          3+ years’ experience on the topic of electronic resources
licensing, with a knowledge of negotiating licenses;

•          Comfortable with delivering an online course;

•          Able to complete a form I-9, used for verifying the identity and
employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United
States.



Payment details: iSchool Continuing Education offers a one-time
$100/week-of-course development payment (for example, a 6-week class
development payment is $600), and in addition pays $235/week-of-course for
instruction. (for example, a 6-week instruction payment is $1410).
