In fairness, those who work for vendors frequently hesitate to contribute to discussion lists, or there are policies in place for vendors as to who is the appropriate person to respond, or whether anyone is allowed to publicly respond. It’s a very trick thing. And many, perhaps most, prominent vendors have a *lot* of librarians working for them. These people do have their own opinions and insights but might have more constraints than their customers in terms of what can be stated or shared. But I think it’s safe to say that they are all “listening”. I’ve worked for a vendor and it’s not an easy position to be in, and I value colleagues who work for vendors.
