*OVERVIEW*
Dahlgren Memorial Library [DML] is the graduate health & life sciences
research library at Georgetown University Medical Center [GUMC], Washington
D.C. DML works proactively with a broad range of faculty, staff, students,
clinicians and administrators to be fully integrated into the teaching,
research and clinical activities of GUMC, leveraging a highly skilled team
of librarians and other professionals engaged with innovative technology in
the provision of user-focused services and resources.  Georgetown
University is an RUVH / Carnegie 1 research institution, with 80% of the
research originating at GUMC. Georgetown University School of Medicine
[GUSoM] in particular is a research-intense environment. DML was
highlighted as a major strength in the most recent LCME review and is
well-supported in terms of 21st Century resources and tools [100% e-only]
to do the job. DML staff members are encouraged to “color outside the
lines” and participate in activities across the spectrum. This is a rare

*RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS*

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director for Resources & Access
Management, the Library Applications Integration Manager is the in-house
technical expert for all DML applications in support of the research,
education and patient care missions of DML & GUMC. Duties include but are

   - Supports 24/7 ubiquitous access to DML e-resources by serving as main
   administrator for DML's OpenAthens authentication system
   - Investigates security/access issues with publishers, OpenAthens,
   University Information Services, and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
   [MGUH] IT departments as needed
   - Manages the DML Integrated Library System including running and
   analyzing reports, creating loan rules and item types, troubleshooting
   problems, loading patron data, and managing updates
   - Provides guidance to DML staff on current metadata standards
   - Provides back-end support for tools on the SpringShare platform, names
   LibGuides, LibCal and LibAnalytics
   - Serves on various library and GUMC committees, teams and task forces


*REQUIREMENTS*

   - Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences from an ALA
   accredited library/information school
   - 5 years of relevant experience performing management of library
   systems and applications, preferably in an academic health sciences library
   environment
   - Experience supporting the gamut of academic health sciences needs
   - Knowledge of and experience with ILS management, preferably CyberTools
   and OpenAthens or EZProxy
   - Advanced knowledge of system and data standards
   - Excellent verbal and written skills, and the ability to communicate
   clearly and effectively and to work well with members of an academic
   medical center community
   - Strong service orientation, willingness to learn new skills, and
   ability to quickly adapt to changes in technology and the academic
   environment
   - Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail, excellent
   organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team
   environment


*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

   - Drupal/web site management and Applications Programming Interface
   [API] skills
   - Knowledge of library/information integration into EMR/EHR [Electronic
   Medical Records / Electronic Health Records]
   - AHIP accreditation preferred - if not accredited at time of
   employment, expected to pursue once hired
