Hi Emily et al,
Have others also noticed Cabell’s server crashing a lot since the Blacklist has been added? I’m concerned about both cost and stability? Had anyone else experienced brief but frequent outages?
Best,
Tina

Hi Emily,
We have seen a jump in our pricing with our most recent renewal and are currently discussing our options. Like many others, we have a flat budget, so we're trying to determine if we can accommodate the increase. We've seen large increases in a few other packages/databases for FY18 and calendar year 2018 (Annual Reviews, anyone?), which is making this decision that much more difficult.

I'm not sure if this is the right venue or/and if I should start a separate thread on this topic, but have any of you seen a very steep jump in Cabell's renewal pricing this year? Not due to just the additional, separate invoicing for 'The Blacklist?'
Anyway, we have, and I'm just curious if others have as well, as I'm currently contemplating how to proceed.
Thank you,
~Emily

Having run a faculty workshop on publishing opportunities this morning, Cabell’s is fresh in my mind (not in a good way). Content from the Cabell Directory of Publishing Opportunities is now in the ‘Whitelist’. Sometimes their old URL redirects and sometimes not; the new URL is https://www.cabells.com<http://www.cabells.com>. Chrome seems to work best.
Once you’ve logged in, go to Advanced Search to access your subscriptions. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to Add Filter and select Disciplines & Topics, to display your subscriptions. The filter adds in below the Keyword field. Click on the drop down to select the disciplines or topics you want, click back INSIDE the Advanced Search box (or the search resets and you’ll have to start over), and then click Search. A list will appear in alphabetical order. There is no way to sort or filter the results after a search. Very user-unfriendly. Here’s a short screencast that shows how we’re searching it: https://www.screencast.com/t/CxQYG3la
If you have found a better way to search Cabell’s, please share. Frankly they need to hear from those of us on this list that sub. It’s a terrible user interface.

Subject: [Eril-l] Access to Cabell's
Cabell's has redesigned their website & we no longer seem to have access to any of our Cabell Directory of Publishing Opportunities titles. I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone there yet. Does anyone know if the URL has changed for these products?
