Free Webinar: Big Data to the Big Picture: Helping Researchers Get the Most of Their Data
March 14, 2:00pm EST

With big data research all the rage, how are librarians being asked to engage with data? As big data research takes off across Business, Science, and the Humanities, librarians need to understand big data and the issues around its storage and curation. How can it be made accessible? What tools and resources are required to use and analyze big data? Our panelists will share how big data is being used on their campus and how they, as librarians, are supporting the sourcing and storage of this data.

Panelists:

Caroline Muglia, Head of Resource Sharing and Collection Assessment Librarian at University of Southern California, manages the Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery department and leads the collection assessment efforts for the Library. Before this position, Caroline worked at the Library of Congress and later as a Data Librarian for an educational technology company.

Jill Parchuck is Associate University Librarian for Science, Social Science and Medicin at Yale University.
