[Eril-l] are there any one-time purchase opportunities in the world of electronic resources?

In addition to the vendors already named, also look at Alexander Street Press and Brill for some primary source collections related to religion. I’ll be happy to provide a list of specific ones we’re purchased at Baylor if you want to call me.

Thanks,
Ramona

At one time I was looking at what JSTOR had to offer for one time purchase: http://about.jstor.org/content/one-time-payment?cid=eml_onetimepayment_asxvMay2016

Hi, Cynthia--
We just spent some of our one time funds on a couple primary source collections (some vendors we looked at include Adam Matthew, Readex, EBSCO, etc). We also had the option to switch some of our subscriptions to perpetual access, though these subscriptions were also for historical/primary source collections like the Chicago Defender.
For Theology and Religion subject areas in particular, I know some of the collections that EBSCO is offering right now are from ATLA, if you don't already have those. They were also deeply discounted when we purchased a few weeks ago, and they may still be. https://www.ebscohost.com/archives

Hi – I’m looking for new ways of purchasing, beyond our usual subscriptions, in the subject domain of Theology and Religion. I sent this message to the ATLA listserv:

If any of you, hypothetically, had a budget surplus in your “computer and database” budget, which is separate from the ebook budget, but you’re looking for a one-time purchase, rather than a subscription, do you have ideas on products that would fall in that category that I may not be aware of? I’m thinking that if there is any document delivery service that purchases by “tokens”, or a one-time purchase for a reference source (how is that not an ebook?. I thought some of you might have ideas. Software generally falls under our IT department budget. I’m looking for something that would make a difference to our users.
