The University of Texas Libraries seeks an innovative and energetic Continuing Resources Acquisitions Coordinator to provide leadership and expertise in acquiring and managing the Libraries' print and electronic continuing resources and databases.  The Continuing Resources Acquisitions Coordinator will coordinate the ordering, activation, payment, and maintenance of continuing resources in all formats. This position works collaboratively with staff involved with collection development, systems access, departmental liaisons, and metadata services.


Essential Functions:

*         Create and maintain order records in Sierra ILS for continuing resources in all formats. Order continuing resource materials from domestic, international vendors. Follow up on complex order situations and problems. Assign and track order workflow through internal ticketing system.

*         Renew/cancel continuing resource subscriptions. Enter and modify information related to continuing resource orders in Sierra ILS and Intota ERM.

*         Work with professional staff, vendors, distributors and publishers to solve subscription and standing order problems.

*         Work with Access Systems to update ERM with order information and status; activate new resources. Add/modify entries in A-Z database listing.

*         Document processes, workflows and best practices for continuing resource acquisition and management.

Required Qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited graduate program. Two years of applicable library work experience. Extensive acquisitions experience in an academic library setting. Work experience with an integrated library system (ILS), such as Sierra, and with an electronic resource management system (ERM). Demonstrated experience with library materials order processing, such as placing orders with vendors, and handling invoices or similar financial documents from vendors. Knowledge of the continuing resources order and receiving process as well as knowledge of e-resources. Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills. Successful supervisory experience. Strong commitment to customer service. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to effectively and appropriately react and adapt to changing work processes and priorities. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented work environment.

Preferred Qualifications: More than two years of library experience. Experience working with an Open URL linking product. Experience with the compilation of accurate metadata about print and electronic resources using a variety of systems, including the ILS, ERM, link resolver, A-Z lists, and discovery tool. Experience with library-oriented vendor and/or publisher web sites, including the ability to interpret information provided by such sites regarding institutional purchases. Experience with continuing resources/serials vendors. Experience with complex subscription packages. Demonstrated ability to resolve online access problems. Extensive experience with the acquisitions and serials modules of an integrated library system. Familiarity with the terms and conditions in contracts governing the usage of electronic resources. Familiarity with MARC record format and AACR2 and RDA cataloging standards. Experience with cataloging workflows and cataloging tools such as OCLC. Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and independent judgment in order to set priorities to meet work deadlines. Experience related to the job functions.

Salary and Benefits:  $51,996 annually or more, depending on qualifications and experience.  No state or local income tax.  Standard state benefits package including annual vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, retirement plans, and health insurance options (comprehensive major medical and HMO plans, dental, vision, life, and disability).  Deferred compensation and tax sheltered annuity programs also available.
