[Eril-l] insight on updates to BrowZine Web?

When I asked our account representative a couple of weeks ago, she sent me the following response:

“My Bookshelf will be available at the end of the month before Thanksgiving. However, the ability to sync between the mobile and web will require an APP UPDATE and Apple and Google have both been sluggish in their review cycles as of late, so even with our code being complete Apple/Google will likely not be able to release those updates until the first few weeks of December.

The important thing is that the core functionality of creating an account, adding titles to My Bookshelf, and re-arranging them on the shelves will be available in November.

Meanwhile, Reading lists will be available in 2016 in the Spring. We delayed reading lists as we have been gathering more feedback about how customers want that to work as well as to implement the much requested external searching and integrations into A-Z lists, something not part of even the original EV1 design but that was highly requested by customers early this Fall.”

I’ll also add that even without this functionality, our September usage statistics indicated a 400% increase from August, with 86% of the usage coming from the web and 14% of the usage coming from iOS or Android devices. --brp

Subject: [Eril-l] insight on updates to BrowZine Web?

Our library started a subscription to BrowZine last year and when BrowZine Web was announced, at an additional cost to the regular subscription, we signed up for it as part of our renewal for this year. There are two major new features of BrowZine Web that the extra money we paid up front is supposed to provide, My Bookshelf and Reading Lists. They were promised to be ready this Fall. They still aren’t available and Third Iron support has been uncharacteristically silent when asked about an update on the release timing of these new features.

I happened to check the end user interface again yesterday and noticed that although My Bookshelf still says “Coming Fall 2015”, Reading Lists now says “Coming Q1 2016”.

Does any other BrowZine customer on this list have any further insight on the situation they’d be willing to share?
