The University of Mary Washington is seeking an Electronic Resources
Librarian. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day
operations and workflows supporting the acquisition of electronic resources
and serials in all formats and for providing leadership in the Libraries in
the area of scholarly communication. Collaborates with the Technical
Services Librarian and the Reference Librarians to build serial and
electronic resources collections that support the University’s curriculum
and user needs and negotiates and monitors license agreements of new and
renewing purchases. The ERL ensures catalog and holdings record accuracy
and maintains the information in the libraries’ link resolver. The ERL
works with systems personnel to enhance the discovery and use of library
resources and to resolve technical issues as they arise.
The Electronic Resources Librarian will serve as the Libraries’
point-person for all issues related to copyright compliance and fair use.
This librarian will lead education and outreach to faculty or issues
relating to scholarly publishing, including open access, altmetrics, and
data management. The ERL will also work with the Digital Resources
Librarian in the development of digital resources and repositories.
In addition to these responsibilities, this librarian serves on the
reference desk, including occasional Saturday duty, and serves on library
and campus committees. The ERL participates in the Libraries’ planning and
assessment processes.
