At my institution, we also used to have the Bloomberg terminals in the library and for the most part only the business students used it. After budget cuts and a library move, the School of Management took over the Bloomberg terminals. They are currently
located in the School of Management department, and the contracts are handled by them, not the library. It has worked out well for us. </div>

That's a great question. At a prior institution we had a Bloomberg terminal and it was woefully underutilized within the library space. The library split the cost with the business/economics department. I honestly think since that particular department wanted
it and it was so highly specialized needing to know specific key board shortcuts and business jargon that it probably would have been better for it to reside within the business department. It could take the pressure off the library when something tech wise
goes wrong too. From an access and relational standpoint it would be good for building ongoing relationships with the department & for students to access the resource when the department might not necessarily be open (ie the library would most likely be open
more robust hours). We found that the vendor really pushed it very hard and it was a pretty pricey resource. At Brandeis university I believe they have the bloomberg terminals located in the business lab with no terminal within the library space itself. It
also might be worth considering if this is something your institution could afford long term. Just some food for thought & hope its helpful.</div>

A new finance major has been proposed, and as part of the process for discussion and approval, me and the business library liaison had a conversation about library resource needs with the faculty proposing the program. Ultimately, a Bloomberg Terminal (or
a few) would be the goal for providing most of the needs of this program in the next few years. Of course, expenses were discussed, but does anyone have experience with Bloomberg Terminals being located in your library or a split location/access policy with
the departments that use them? Or do your business schools/departments have full responsibility for them, including the cost?</div>
