observation that many opportunities (particularly for grants/travel

librarians. "New Leader Awards" encourage early-career librarians to
attend conferences, and are designed to propel them into professional
volunteerism. We’ve also seen opportunities for mid-career librarians, who may
be involved in a career change to assume greater leadership responsibilities
(for example, from catalog librarian to head of cataloging or head of technical
services).

we haven’t seen are opportunities geared toward the late-career librarians.
This is a missed opportunity since many of us are still quite active in
librarianship, at conferences, and with research and scholarship. We also want
to stay current with emerging trends and recognize that learning is a continual
process that benefits us, our libraries, and our profession. Additionally, we
have decades of experience and knowledge to share in these spaces.
Unfortunately, it often feels as if we’re overlooked and unheard.
