<p class="MsoNormal"><b>The Collection Analysis Librarian will</b>:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Use data analysis to identify new and developing areas in collections to improve student success, research, and teaching at GSU.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Support the projects of the Collection Development & Discovery Department by developing reports to assist department members in decision-making regarding collection strategies.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Create and apply methods to collect data from various sources using semi-automated methods and ensure the data is correctly uploaded into the appropriate repository or relational database system. Manage relational databases to maintain
data quality, modify database structures, create new databases as needed, and document procedures.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Create collections reports for other library departments. <o:p>
</o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Gather, assess, interpret, and present quantitative and qualitative data about library collections for various internal and external stakeholders.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Cultivate data analysis, visualizations, and database maintenance skills and stay abreast of software upgrades, new tools, and methods of analysis.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Serve as the GSU representative on the University System of Georgia OPAC/Discovery functional committee.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Communicate proposed OPAC changes from the committee to University Library; solicit feedback and propose improvements.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Coordinate any changes to the GSU OPAC requested by the University Library.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Required Qualifications</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program. A May 2023 degree completion date will be<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">considered.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Experience working in collection development/assessment/management, electronic resources,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">discovery, systems, or technical services in an academic or research library.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Strong analytical skills.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Preferred Qualifications</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Experience, or knowledge, of current trends in collection strategy, assessment, or collection<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">• Experience using or evaluating library collections usage data.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Experience working with an ILS, especially the Analytics module.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Knowledge of, or experience with, relational databases (Access, MySQL Server, MySQL, etc.).<o:p></o:p></p>
