Project MUSE Welcomes University of Toronto Press Books to the Platform

Project MUSE is pleased to announce an expansion of its relationship with the University of Toronto Press (UTP) to make the publisher’s distinguished academic books available on the MUSE platform. UTP, which has had journals on MUSE for
nearly two decades, is expected to contribute more than 100 new book titles annually to the Project MUSE Annual Frontlist books collections, beginning in 2023.

UTP is also expected to make a significant quantity of backlist books available on the MUSE platform over the next year, and their titles will be available for purchase individually—direct with MUSE or via distribution partners GOBI and
OASIS, through MUSE’s Books Custom Collections model, and for inclusion in Evidence-Based Acquisitions programs.

Canada’s leading academic publisher and one of North America’s largest university presses, UTP is widely recognized, both at home throughout the U.S., for its strength in history, political science, sociology, Indigenous studies, and cultural
studies. Internationally, UTP is known as a leading publisher of medieval, Renaissance, Italian, Iberian, Slavic, and urban studies, as well as studies in book and print culture. UTP titles will enhance many Project MUSE strengths across this broad variety
of humanities and social science disciplines.

“Project MUSE is an integral part of today's global scholarly communications network,” says Jessica Mosher, President, Publisher and CEO of UTP. “Joining UTP Journals on the MUSE platform is a logical next step for UTP Book Publishing,
as we constantly strive to make our books accessible to libraries, scholars and students around the world. We look forward to collaborating with the Project MUSE team.”

“We are thrilled to welcome University of Toronto Press books onto Project MUSE, to be discoverable alongside their essential journal content on the platform,” says Phil Hearn, Publisher Relations Manager at Project MUSE. “We look forward
to working together to bring their distinguished scholarly books to MUSE’s global audience of researchers.”
