this position seeks to increase the pipeline of qualified and talented individuals from historically underrepresented groups and follows the structure of their residency positions. This two-year, non-tenure track, appointment provides an opportunity for a
recent graduate librarian to develop expertise in a functional area and contribute to an initiative of strategic importance to the Libraries. Visiting assistant professors are fully integrated members of the library faculty performing as entry-level librarians.

positions and contribute fully to the profession. The new faculty member will report to the Assistant Dean for Public Services who will provide oversight and consistency throughout the experience. During the first year the faculty member will participate in
teaching, reference, and liaison activities and rotate through the library’s departments. Each rotation will build understanding of the library’s mission, role and structure. During the second year, the faculty member will specialize in a functional area of
his or her choosing, and develop a significant project that supports one of the library’s strategic goals.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
