It seemed like the major uptick in use of Kanopy had to be somewhat entertainment related and not just related to coursework. My thinking was that, if this were true, perhaps another unit on campus could take on the cost of providing streaming for students while the library would mediate Kanopy and make sure that those purchases were actually to support curriculum. </div><div><br></div><div>What I'm hearing from folks is that the increased usage at their institution's still seems to be related to course support. <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">We are also seeing a lot more use of Kanopy at my institution, with overlap of our DVDs of classic films. And yet I can’t blame faculty for not wanting to go through the hassle
of getting a DVD player for class and checking out the DVD physically, and making sure it works with your classroom setup. It’s easier to use one’s customary laptop, presumably already rigged up to a projector or big monitor, and just stream the film from
Kanopy. (except for when something goes wrong technically, of course).<u></u><u></u></span></p>
