<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="color:black">The Dick Smith Library at Tarleton State University is seeking an Emerging Technologies librarian. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Collection Management,
this Librarian is responsible for </span>maintaining and managing library software and servers including the integrated library management system and other tools;
<span style="color:black">oversees the library’s Maker Spot, including assisting users, planning and implementing outreach activities, and supports and troubleshoots equipment; In collaboration with the End User Support Specialist,
</span>helps organize and coordinate daily activities to maximize effective use of library technologies;
<span style="color:black">provides regular and on-demand training; seeks to make library staff independent and proficient users of technology. Also provides general reference desk coverage as needed.
</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Requires a Master’s degree in Library Science from approved ALA accredited university and two years of related experience in an academic library setting with knowledge of library systems. Knowledge of basic metadata schemas, digital collection
management software, security, and public safety issues. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and research skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><br>
Should have knowledge of library systems and software such as Inter-library loan, EZProxy. Knowledge of web technologies and standards, i.e. html, W3, responsive web design. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Ability to multitask
and work cooperatively with others. Ability to use basic print and electronic reference tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="color:black">This is a twelve-month, professional appointment with salary commensurate with experience plus benefits, including choice of group medical and retirement
programs; approximately 14 state holidays; paid vacation and sick leave; tuition program; and no state or local income tax.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
