<p class="MsoNormal">The Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library at Yale University seeks a Collection Development and Scholarly Communication Librarian to provide
<span class="text">leadership in collection development and scholarly communication activities.</span> This detail-orientated, collaborative individual will be responsible for
<span class="text">license and price negotiation, vendor relations, collection analysis and assessment, budget management, trouble-shooting e-resource access, and will serve as the
</span><span style="color:black;background:white">in-house expert for staff and users on open access, alternative publishing models, and other issues related to scholarly information.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Required: Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school plus a minimum of two years of professional library experience. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of the electronic publishing, open access, or scholarly communication
environment plus demonstrated experience with <span style="color:black">electronic resources management, such as: licensing, negotiating, vendor relations, collection analysis and assessment.</span> Must also show excellent organizational skills and the ability
to solve problems and manage complex workflows and budgets. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications and analytical ability.

<p class="MsoNormal"> Preferred: Familiarity and experience with <span class="text">
biomedical information resources and tools, as well as knowledge of health sciences libraries and their evolving roles in medical education, research, clinical practice, and scholarly communication.
</span><span class="s1">Experience with implementing joint licenses between academic entities and health systems.</span><span class="text"> Public services experience and training.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
