You could download that then extract all the 050s from it using MarcEdit or another tool. That should give you plenty of data to test, millions of instances.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

a properly sortable column (mostly by padding the various numbers with leading zeros).<o:p></o:p></span></p>

properly for. (It does handle 3-letter LC classes and those weird old call numbers that start with the class and then have the pubyear instead of subject area number.)</span><o:p></o:p></p>
