I agree with Diane. We are somewhat similar to her institution with a bit under 3,000 FTE and although we are primarily an undergraduate focused institution, we have two PhD programs and about 14 Master’s level programs to support. I too checked on circulation
of physical materials and in 2012 we had about 60,000 items checked out. In 2016, that number was around 43,000. The trend is undeniably downward. I’ll know more about this year’s stats in a few months after our annual report is finished. In the same timeframe
e-resources usage has dramatically increased.
