<p class="MsoNormal">The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a Systems and Technical Services Librarian at the Wiener-Rogers Law Library at the William S. Boyd School of Law.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Systems and Technical Services Librarian is responsible for coordinating the law library’s implementation of its integrated library system and ensuring that the ILS functions as (i) a reliable and efficient mechanism for accessing the
library’s physical and digital collections, and (ii) a reliable and accurate inventory of all of the library’s collections. As library systems evolve, the Systems and Technical Services Librarian will be expected to keep abreast of changing technologies
in the delivery of library services and make recommendations on law library initiatives to ensure accessibility and use of library collections.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The successful candidate will be innovative, skilled, and enthusiastic about the potential of libraries to enable the discovery of information, document the library’s holdings, and support the research and teaching of the law school community.
The Systems and Technical Services Librarian is expected to work collaboratively with other librarians and staff in developing initiatives to enhance the accessibility and usability of library collections.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Systems and Technical Services Librarian is part of a team of librarians who support student learning and faculty scholarship at the Law School and who otherwise contribute to the mission of the law school in a variety of ways. We
encourage initiative and innovation among Library faculty and staff; we encourage independence in developing projects; and we expect professionals to contribute to the mission of the Law School and the Law Library on a variety of levels. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The successful candidate will be hired either as a member of the library‘s professional staff (administrative faculty status at the University) or as a tenure-track law library faculty member (academic faculty status at the University).
Tenure-track law library faculty members are expected to engage in substantive research, scholarship, and service. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">A master’s degree in library or information science or similar graduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required. The successful candidate should have systems and technical services professional experience,
including experience with integrated library management systems, batch loading of records, and data collection and management. The successful candidate should also have experience with cataloging and metadata tools and standards. Also required are excellent
project management skills, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, the ability to carry out responsibilities with a minimum of supervision, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong service commitment.
To be considered as a tenure-track law library faculty member, the candidate must have a J.D. from a regionally accredited college or university.<o:p></o:p></p>
